"If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude" Maya Anelou

Whether it's to lose weight, heal a physical condition, improve your financial situation improve your existing relationship, or fight to change the world. Change is the backbone of progress.
“The secret of change is focus all your energy not on fighting the old but building the new.” Socrates
I am naturally right-handed. I broke my right hand in a basketball accident. I went up for a ball and fell awkwardly and fell on my hand. It was painful; I had to learn how to use my left hand. When I started using my left hand, it wasn't easy. It was frustrating. It was a significant change for me because my handwriting was awful. I had to learn how to write all over. I would be discouraged and want to give up, but I kept at it. Like change, it isn't easy at first. We resist the change because it is not fun. It was awkward, but the more I wrote with my left hand. I got better; I felt more comfortable.
It is similar to when I broke my right collar bone playing football. The injury affected my right shoulder. You never know the actions and muscles you use until they are unavailable. Now, if you think learning how to write with your left hand is hard, imagine not having the ability to use your shoulder. It is the little things like going to the bathroom that is frustrating. It was awkward, uncomfortable, and embarrassing, but it was a change that I had to make.

Yikes
Ask yourself whether you are struggling to change. Change for me was difficult. I was immature in my thinking. I felt that everything would be okay if everyone behaved the way I thought they should. Not sure if you struggle with change? Look at these few ways that fear of change shows up:

1. Self-sabotage - when things start to go well, you find some ways to screw it up
2. Procrastination - you find yourself not getting started or not following through
3. Lack of clarity - you don't start because you are not sure what you want

4. Perfectionism is for to be absolutely right before you can go forward
I needed to change so many things about myself that I felt overwhelmed. Then I was indecisive, and not deciding kept me from moving forward. I didn't like myself for a very long time. I always look for other people's acceptance. I feared rejection. I knew I had to change. The change I made in my life changed; I needed to make myself happy. Changing is difficult, like learning to write with my left hand or using the bathroom with a broken shoulder. I was so worried about what other people would think. What will happen if this changes? How will other people feel about it? What pain might I experience if I make this change?
To move toward my goals, I had to identify my limiting beliefs, both real and imaginary. Think about what changes you need and want to make. I imagine that you could achieve the thing you have been wanting. How does it feel?
Please share why you may or may not be resistant to change. Please share with me and others how to overcome the anxiety to change.
I knew I wanted to change in those first couple of years of personal awareness. I had to break the patterns running my life for so long. I have learned to let go, heal and move forward in all areas of my life.
